As as general rule, the bike doesn't know where it is on the track...so the 1/8 and 1/4 mile gearing is the same.

Some guys will gear up for 1/8 mile only. I personally don't like the additional shift or the added risk of tire spin.

I would suggest 16/41 or 42 going through in 4th in the 1/4 with 5 inches in the arm.

Some guys would suggest a 16/45 or 46 going through in 5th in the quarter.

There are too many variables:

As the above post states, we can help you get close...the rest it up to you and your combination.

I use a 16/41 combo because I weigh 255lbs. I go through the traps in 3rd just right before the rev limiter. Of course I'm up here at 5300' altitude and things change dramatically compared to you low altitude guys. I believe with the low reving high torque of the 1300 it does not really need to be extreme on the gearing. If you gear it steep you will rev too quickly through the useable powerband. That is if it is primarily street driven.

The ZX12rs love a lot of gearing. They make more power beyond 10500 than the Bus and have a lot less Torque down low.

My .02.

Thanks I'm currently 17 45 so I'll stay there the 16 tooth rubbed to much when I was 16/42 so I went 17/45.  I was just wondering if I would run out of steam up top in the 1/4 mile.
