I have a 2003 busa with 1397 street smart 3 exhust, 2 intake cams, power commander, stock air filter, 1397 track map, and cleaned head... 1397 and exhust has around 20 mi. so far, this is when the fi light started comming on. I am not hitting the rev limiter, but under normal riding there is no light. The light comes on only under wide open throttle and higher rpm. 7000 and above. I cant find any lose or unpluged connectors. thanks for any help. |

I have powercommander IIIr. The codes refer to a short or ground with the injectors. I think with 1397 track map the stock injectors band width is to long so they never close. computer sees this and sets fi code. But I hope I'm wrong. |

I have been reading or looking at pitchers. The codes are 32-33-35... I think the stock injectors are to small 280 cc/min. CBR1100XX injectors flow 335 cc/min. S2000 injectors flow 390 cc/min ... I think the codes are set because the band width for this small of injector is to wide and over laping at high rpm... so that would also tell me that if band width is over laping then the bike is running lean up there... The bike does not have o2 sensors to compensate or set a o2 code... I am not saying the map is bad its just not possible for the injectors to supply enough fuel...If it hade o2 sensors it would try to widen the band width more... The fix would be higher flow injectors whitch would shorten band width and spraying more fuel... More fuel less band width= no band width=no codes... Now would the fuel pump flow enough fuel??? Does the bike have limp home mode like most cars??? It may all be in my head but befor the light or codes are set the bike feels like it is stronger. After light is on I have hurd detonation in lower rpms... It seems that turbo bikes have this problem has any one hade this on a 1397??? THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE HELP |

I run brock's 1397 track map in all our bikes,we even richen the exsisting map for nitrous( stock pump/stock injectors). It's not the MAP. Make sure the map is uploaded correctly, try running the bike without the pc to see if it still trips the codes. You may just need a new pc,i have seen some go bad. What other electronics do you have on the bike?

When i first rode the bike I had a lesser map and no codes... I have wet nos, second cooling fan, and the codes are triped without using fan or nos... And I did not say it was or is the new map but, this is when the problem started... Not pointing fingers just trying to find a solution... I realy hope to find it to be my screw up because the fix would be cheaper that way... THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE HELP |

The FI error is due to over-cycling the injectors. I had the same problems with my '02 1397, cams, etc. My FI light would come on at the top end. On the dyno the A/F would go lean right at the top end and no amount of correction with the PC111r would cure it. The simple fix was a fuel pump, tank blockoff plate and adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Stay with your stock injectors, even if you run bigger injectors your stock fuel system can't deliver enough fuel. I purchased this as a kit thru Brock. I started with 55psi fuel pressure and a base map from brock and cleaned up the map on the dyno. All fixed now. |

I have been serching for info on the hayabusa fuel pump flow rate and the honda s2000 fuel pump flow rate... But can't find anything... Has anyone got any info on this or know some way to find out if the s2000 pump flow rat in higher??? I have had these pumps side by side and the only external difference that I can see is the electrical plug... pump is $100.00... I can modify or press my regulator to get more pressure... I'm not sure but i think the stock pump will not flow enough fuel... thanks fore the help...

ROSSCO Thanks fore the advise, I think we have ran into the same problem but I am trying to keep the pump in the tank... It would be nice to keep it in the tank because I have the nitrous solenoids under the tank and just dont have the room... I do think its odd that no one else has had this problem...

30th The pump mounts on the side rail of the rear sub-frame and the tank blank off plate actually gives you MORE room under the tank because the bulb of the stock pump/filter assy hangs down further than the plate. I believe others have had the same prob. I think a strong 1397 is right on the limit of the stock pump, once you want more fuel for nitrous the prob gets bigger. Godd luck. If you want some pics I can try and get some in the next fortnight as I am changing over to an early (aluminium) sub-frame. |

ROSSCO I would be interested in the map your running now after upping the fuel pressure... This would give me a something to start with and sounds like we have the same motor build... I just don't know if brock would mind??? I wouldn't think so I am a Platinum Member and have recived maps from him... |
