Typically, product development for new models is a rather slow and painstaking ordeal; the fact that the BMW is an entirely new make and model with no previous history to build from has posed its own unique set of challenges. Add to this the fact that the new Beamer is making more horsepower per cc than any modern-day motorcycle in the history of two-wheeled machines, and you can see that we have had our hands completely full trying to catch up. It took German engineers four years to design, develop, and produce the S 1000 RR; we are proud to announce that in a matter of a few short months since its release, we have passed our final testing phases and moved into (or very close to) production on the following components:
